Friday Quote-day

Caution:  I am watching the all-time romantic ending of Sleepless in Seattle as I write this.  Be warned.  The following post may be oozing with cheesiness.

One of my favorite websites, The Daily Love, sends me three inspiring quotes every morning by e-mail.  Reading these quotes (with the addition of coffee, of course) truly helps me to get up in the morning.  There is so much power within words to which I think anyone with a heartbeat can relate.  Ladies, have you ever listened to Alanis Morissette's "You Oughtta Know" after a [bad] breakup?  How ALIVE do you feel afterwards?  Okay, odd example, but I'm just saying that words are POWERFUL in any form.  Books, lyrics, quotes; they work their way into your insides and make you feel as if you're not alone anymore.

If you have ever entered my bedroom (lucky you), then you know that I have two chalkboard-coated walls completely dedicated to quotes.  One of my favorite quotes on my wall is, "Dreams don't work unless you do."  I read this quote for the first time when I moved home from San Francisco in the summer of 2012.  It opened my eyes.  You see, there are so many places I want to travel, goals I want to accomplish, dreams that I desire to live.  (New York City, I'm coming for you.)  However, in Spring/Summer of 2012...let me tell you, I was not "working."  I am so grateful that I hit rock bottom because it caused me to get sober.  My journey is just beginning.  Dreams will work if I do.  I share this quote in hopes that it will impact you in even a fraction of the way that it impacted me.
